scrap paid for Cats

I was reading the other day that exhausts are being stolen from cars in order to sell the cats from the exhausts for up to £200 to scrap dealers for the precious metals contained.If this is fact that the dealers are paying so much should we receive an allowance for scrap value when having a replacement exhaust fitted. I have just paid over £700 for an exhaust replacement and
£200 would have gone a long way towards this cost .Any comments please

Yes scrap cars are now worth money, and cats are especially sought after, always ask for your old cat if you are having one replaced ..tho next these guys will be telling us that there is a surcharge on them

Even batteries are making money, I had 7 and the scrap man couldnt get them in his van quick enough.

Mate of mines just ahd 6 customers cars cats cut off. We know whos doing it but they are beyond the law say it will keep happening, just hope some of these dids get killed cutting some of the power cables they keep knicking.
