As I suspected, 2 and a half hours of basically idling the engine made my mpg go down (that is worse than usual), but I will keep monitoring it and update the thread when I have something measurable, i.e. a decent mileage inbetween topping the tank up[/Q

Richie,
so what was your measured mpg throughout your trip from home to Blackpool and back?

Regards
John

Having just my taken my daily cynical pill i'm calling 'snake oil' given the price of it. The stuff is a blend of 'pale oil' (naphthenic oil), naptha (basically lighter fluid) and isopropyl alchol

Hi
I worked the trip, including the drag along the seafront, worked out out at 30 mpg.

I usually get about 32 mpg with just short trips around Ellesmere Port/Chester/Birkenhead/Queensferry. All shortish trips with none more than 25 mile round trips.

Don't really know when I'll be doing a decent mileage trip yet.
