Morning all

Well I am getting round to identifying all of the niggles on my newly acquired ML, not that much really but a few things here and there. On of the more annoying problems is the electronic adjustment for the passenger front seat does not work. In fact the plastic housing that covers the lower left hand side of the seat has come away from the seat itself and none of the buttons work at all. This is presenting a small problem as I need to fit a child seat to the rear so would like to at least be able to move the seat forward, I cant see that there is a manual override to be able to move it.

I would like to try and diagnose the problem initially myself, at least to rule out a simple issue with the switch pack, fuse, relay or connection. I do recall however that when I tried a similar repair on my W220 it triggered a BAS/ASR warning, would this happen on the ML as well?

I was planning to trace the wires to the control until that is under the seat and remove the switch pack to have a closer look. Also I was planning to check the fuses but there seems to be some confusion on a number of websites as to the correct fuse and its location. I was wondering if anyone (Malcolm to the rescue perhaps!) could point me in the correct location (let me know if you need the VIN) of any relevant fuses or relays. To be honest I’ll probably look out for a new side piece and switch pack from Ebay etc as this one is pretty battered. I would just like to get it to work so I can move the seat not that worried about the cosmetics!

So any help or advice appreciated as always

Thanks Chaps. :)
