My dear old C320 on 53 plates has a problem - when my seat belt is on the red warning light remains illuminated and it bleeps constantly - it's not recognising that it's actually fastened - any suggestions please, it's driving me crazy

As a temporary measure you could find the cable to the switch & short it out so the car thinks the seat belt is fastened .... I'm assuming it's a simple normally open or closed switch that the buckle closes or opens

Is the connector under the seat connected?

Errrrr - what am I looking for? About the only thing I do to my car is put petrol or screenwash in!! Live in a small country village - our local mechanic is great but just does servicing and MOT's so a bit stuck!

Move the seat forward and lift it as high as it will go, then get in the back and have a look under the seat for any loose wires or connectors not connected
