Might sound a trivial problem but the little black button on the driver’s seatbelt’s webbing has gone AWOL. Consequentally, the buckle always drops to the floor and has to be retrieved every time I want to belt-up by opening the door and feeling around. Annoying and I’m losing “cool points”.

Question, can I buy just the button, which appears to be in two halves pressed together through (but not cutting!) the webbing. It’s the sort of thing I’d imaging MB saying “It’s a safety related issue - we only supply the full seatbelt”:( - but I only need the two-bob plastic button. Anyone know where I can get one? I don’t want to raid the missus’s sewing box, as I’d rather keep the MB looking up to standard!!

I had the same problem. Trivial, but really annoying when the buckle always slips down to the bottom. Asked at the dealers spares dept, assistant disappeared around the back for a few seconds, came back with a couple. No charge as not worth the paperwork.

Dealers can be useful sometimes.

My dad had the same problem with his C-Class, dealer just gave a few spares and fitted it for him for free so no issues there...

They are more than just a clip on, apparently they are heated/melted together, so the Service Manager said anyway.... Not sure how they do that though.

I've got a little sticky-backed plastic pad stuck on to the belt at the moment. I will ask for some at the dealers next time. Thanks for the info.
