Seat service position?

Hi all,
Since the weather is fine here i am going to have a go at sorting out the front passenger seat not adjusting (backrest and headrest) on my S 320
does the seat have a service position that i can get to the motors without having to take the whole seat out of the car?
(have found a couple of wires hanging under the seat but can't see where they go)

Thanks in advance,

Sorry it does not, either raise it to max and see if you can see anything. Its not too bad a job taking it all out

Thanks Malcolm,
I have had it raised up as far as it will go and just can't see where these leads should go so it looks like a seat out jobbie.
Actually it just looks like the standard two at the front and four at the back bolts to hold it in so will give it a go.

Many thanks,

Hi malcolm,

Thanks very much for that,

I have sorted it!

The seat bolts came out and looked the cleanest and newest that i have ever seen (normally covered in rust at the bottoms and stiff to undo..MB engineering maybe) I found that the two plugs first slide together and then slipped into the neat little socket provided, tested all ok backrest and headrest working as they should.
Re assembly was easy and trouble free and now just hoping that no fuses pop and i find out why the plugs were taken out in the first place!!

PS is the steel cable that runs from the front under the spar to the back of the seat a pre tensioner?

Thanks again,
