Can I get an additional seatbelt for the middle part in my C180? There is a space in the middle for a child to sit and I was wondering if I could get something like an adaptor so I can put a child there.

Oh dear!! Is there not even such thing as an adaptor that I can attach into one of the seatbelts and into the other for example? I have 2 step-kids and one on the way in 5 weeks time :( so was going to put car seat in back and hoping the 8 year could go in middle of the car with an adaptor of some sort :(

If its any help your eight year old can sit anywhere with a standard seat belt as long as he/she is at least 1.35metres in height.

Rich, it would be me, hubby 2 kids and baby if we were going on day out together so I would put baby in back in car seat and 8 year old in middle and 10 year old next to him and hubby in front so would really need an extra seatbelt in the middle. Also do you know if I can switch my airbag off in the front of my C180?

jenny,

don't know about airbags, I guess you are thinking about airbag and eight year old, I think if the eight year old is properly seated with seat belt (and at least 1.35metres tall) the airbag is OK, I don't think its possible to put the baby in the front seat??

it would probably be unwise to turn airbag off even if you can do it (murphy's law chances are it will be off when you want it on)

i dont know about the legality of having two children (properly seated) and one adult without third seat belt all in the back seat

this safety business is the very reason why we bought another MB recently because we have a three year old daughter to think about and having had a MB previously I knew how safe they feel

see what others have to say:)

Ok I would have two kids aged 8 and 10 in the back and also a car seat with the baby in it so I would need an adaptor of some sort for a third seatbelt in the back of the car middle seat. Surely this possible to do this as there is enough space in the middle back seat for an 8 year old to sit on.

Can anyone help or suggest where I can obtain this?

Hi,
I,m a bit confused, are you saying you have no seat belt in the middle part of the rear seat? As all 202's had normal inertia belts either side with a lap belt in the middle, or is it that the lap belt isn,t sufficent for your needs?

As for Andy, Jennifer. I think you will find that the floor pan is prepared with two threaded holes which will take 17 BS bolts and secure a lap belt without any further work being required.

dad has a 2001 w203 saloon. it has a 3 point seatbelt in the middle of the rear seat, and at each side. its an elegance trim. not sure if the sport has a different rear seat though, or if yours is the evo (coupe) Jennifer, but i hope this info is of some use

I doubt very much that the 203 has only 2 belts in the back, if its anything like the 202 some one will have tucked the lap belt down the back of the seat as they can look untidy on the seat as there is no way of stowing them away.
The bottom of the back seat should be very easily removed (it is on a 202), and i could almost guarentee that you will find the lap belt and belt clip there.
