My other half has some how managed to completely ruin 2 of my alloy wheels, they're cracked and now unsafe.

Can anyone please recommend somewhere in or around London that sell second hand alloys for an SLK 230?
I've looked on ebay and found one posting for the ones i need but would like to search elsewhere too.

Many thanks in advance

Hi,
You dont say were you are :(

There is a company called murray systems that might help

http://stores.ebay.co.uk/PORSCHE-MERCEDES-WHEEL-WAREHOUSE

There is also a guy in staines that sells MB wheels on ebay on a regular basis

You could also try MB parts my 17 inch wheels were only £230 each

The problem is if you only need 2 a seller is unlikey to want to split two of a set :( Also, have you had the tracking/ suspension checke over to make sure there isn't any more damage ?

Thanks for your replies. I'm in Edmonton North London.
Yes will definitely need to get tracking and suspension checked over once I get some wheels, but at the moment i can't even move the car. He put the spare wheel on with the original wheel bolts (as there were no other bolts with the wheel) and it wont move & now the bolts wont come out. Had to get the car brought home by Greenflag costing £120. Also the front alloy is cracked and putting pressure on the tyre, so its unsafe to drive.
Dread to think just what extent of damage he has done!

Anna,
Should be reasonably easy to find. These guys might have some takeoffs http://www.elitewheels.co.uk/wheels.cfm

Hi,
cool :D you are in the right part of London try Scotts Tires in Walthamstow There are two shops one down by the Lord Palmerston pub on forest road and
one closer to the police station again on forest road they will probably be able to tell you where to go and ask for replacements :)

Not sure about your car but using the wrong bolts in the wheels can damage the brake/hub assembly in the E class. You need to check this out too........sorry to be saying but better to be safe.

We could send him a flashing neon L badge......

Peterchurch; "Only £230 each" Jeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!!

I knew I did the wrong jobs all my life!

Not a bad price at all concidering that AMG monoblock rims are £1000 each for a flat sprayed wheel and my wheels are machine finished :) I would have expected worse than that to be honest :)

Not disputing the quality of workmanship or aesthetic appeal of the equipment Peter, just that my priorities have of necessity to be different! (Maybe I shouldn't run a Mercedes when I have to budget for a can of synth oil and a set of plugs! LOL).

Hi Tom,
Its a Fair point :( I can remember being in that situation myself (not very long ago either) I don't find running the SL anymore expensive than any of my other cars over the years. That said this is the first car that I refuse to take near a main dealer :D and that tends to mean that I have more money left in my budget to pamper the car and I manage to do more for the car for each £ spent :)
These days oil is oil and plugs are plugs! a friend of my GF was complaining about a service that cost several hundred pound for her Renault Espace these days there are very few cars that are really cheap to run properly at least with a benz you have the added comport feel :D

Sure you will Tom.
All you need is a bit of luck (supplied by me) And:
The knolledgebase here (no need to go to the MB garage to get somehing replaced, that's not broken)
And after all you have a W124 (Last real Merc?)
