Just had a week in Lanzarote reminding myself what sunshine looked like. All went well until a call from home - my (R230) alarm was going off & had been for an hour or so. Directed my neighbour to find the key & although it has keyless, told to unlock the car with the fob, open door & relock. Sounded like they did this, but apparently (I remain unconvinced about this bit!) after a second or two, the car unlocked itself & the alarm went off again (bear in mind they were standing right at the car with the key in their hand).
That made me think that with the heavy rain, water had found it's way into the handle, effectively bridging whatever normally happens when you touch the handle & the keyless opens it up, but why would the alarm go off?
They parked it in their double garage :mrgreen: unlocked and after a couple of days, locked it where it remained silent.
I got home last evening, went to pick it up, metered the boot battery (12.6 volt) before starting, so no big drain on that.
I've taped over the lock button on the handle (still works fine) to stop any possible further water ingress - there has been an issue on that some months back that I obviously have not fixed completely & so far so good.
The question though from this mini War & Peace - any ideas what sequence of events might have kicked off the alarm in the first place given they key was well out of range for keyless?
Thanks in advance
David
