Hi all.
Recently got myself a 05 E320, and just have a quick question. When it’s raining and I open the boot water drips inside the car from the boot lid. I’m pretty sure Mercedes didn’t overlook this when they designed the car, any thought what would cause it? It’s really annoying

Mine too, but on mine opening the boot slowly prevents/reduces the amount of water that drips into the boot space.

Oh yes they did! Just as all car manufacturers didn't think that when they deleted roof gutters to eliminate wind noise, water would drip onto the seats when you opened the door!

my w220 is the same, I open is slowly and let is rest a few seconds after opened about 10 degrees to ensure the water spills away down the valleys

Try an r230.
The cascade of water into the boot when you open it can be pretty impressive!

(And note Blobcat - I'm talking about when you open it not whilst it's shut!)
The overall difference is minimal…:p

You do have to open the SLK boot slowly so the drains don’t overflow into the boot. It‘s more of a problem with a clean and polished boot lid
