Hi,

Have just had new front discs, pads and new sensors replaced on my '03 E270cdi at my local garage not main dealer, but the 'service brake visit workshop' warning hasn't reset.

So the garage suggested it might be the rear brakes with need doing, so they checked the rear discs and pad and they are fine!

Any ideas how this message is cleared or reset?

Thanks,

Gurj

pad warning

HI

this warning resets automaticly, you still have afault. Your car has SBC which is a complicted electronic system which should only be worked on by trained TECS. however the warning system is very simple have they put the correct sensors in the correct pads and just a note the 50% sensor is no longer required

Hi,

Not sure what they have done!!! Will have to get it looked at, at the Mercedes specialist.

How many sensors are there, as you metioned the 50% one? Also I am getting a knocking noice when i sometimes brake which I was told is the calipar runners/slide, which has some play in it!! could this be why the sensors are not resetting?

Thanks.

What mileage have you up? I only replaced my front discs at 105k and am still on original rear discs. Whatever about replacing front discs, I have often seen them done at 50k the rears should not yet need to be replaced.

The mileage is 50k.

Took the car to mercedes specialist and they said the rear disk and pad need replacing which was why the message was up. They have changed them and the message has cleared.

Still getting the knocking noice, but otherwise brakes ok.
