Service cost - C220

My C220 , 17 plate is due it's AO service.
Merc are quoting £626 . That seems pretty steep to me .
I've been quoted by a indy £244 + vat.
Which I've just found out up on the approved mercedes garage app on here. So that makes me more comfortable.
I'm in two minds which way to go.
Do I keep Merc history, is it really worth it.
I'm thinking more in a couple of years when I trade in.

As long as it is serviced to the required standard then the residual value will be unaffected.

You can then easily compare prices, any good MB specialist will be able yo keep your Digital Service Record up to date so when you do change it is all there for the next owner.

You will loose Mobilio breakdown cover for the car by going outside MB for servicing which needs to be factored in . Have you looked into an MB service plan and factored in the costs of that for 2 years or up until you intend to trade the car in .
But as above your trade in value won’t be affected either way

Yes , that was where I got the quote for £626.
The indy is a garage in Derby called German automotive. They can update the digital service record.

Yes , I did that. They knocked a bit off . Not enough to tempt me though.

I did look at the service plan . And to be honest, it wasn't too bad . £38 a month . But I'd rather pay it one go.

Check out the monthly service plan much cheaper than paying for each service. Doesn't make sense must be because they like the monthly payments. It covers all the service items that are required

You have to do your sums , if you take a 3 year plan out on schedule A B A , at the price the op quoted of £38pm , you have paid nearly £1500 for 2 oil changes and a B service .
If you timed it at B A B and had a gearbox oil change you are closer to getting your moneys worth

I’ve also seen threads here where owners have been told by Mercedes that work is required as part of the service, when the owner says “great it’s on a service plan” the work is suddenly no longer required...and/or not covered by the plan.
