I'd change air filters every 2 years myself, for peace of mind. When you look at an old air filter you wonder what crap you have been driving through. I monitor my emails from ECP & Carparts 4 u and buy all my filters when a really good offer appears. I usually have spare filters ready when the time comes.

£110 fitted for the air filters is not bad
Just had a quote from a merc specialist in Sheffield for £63 for filter he’s said it’s genuine and pads £141 fitted

Buy it off ECP, bound to be a "how to" on youtube, MANN are excellent and probably make them for MB

Here you go

I get the way off doing it but mine looks a bit different and harder to get at , looks like something needs removing first before moving onto airfilter

Nothing, standard filter for a 220d engine.

£25 for the MANN one on ECP using SPRING55 discount code
The Bosch filters I bought on ebay were £19.70 for 2 sets, the same filters on ECP are just over £40 for 1 set without discount. Fitting takes about 10 mins so I don't think I would pay over £100 for MB to fit them.

I always change mine every 10k regardless of the "correct" interval. Dirty air filter means less mpg.

Doing this can be daunting, but I've removed mine myself to have a look.

I suppose you only get MB or an indie to do them if you wanted to maintain the service history that gets updated online?

Is there any else to worry about if I were to leave until the dealer does it as part of the service plan which could be in another 2 years

It seems strange to me that the air filter isn't covered in a service plan but I have never had an arrangement such as this so I don't know.
The oil filter obviously is included and therefore the air filter should be included -- that logic makes sense to me at least.

I suggest that you ask your dealer if it is included or not.
Also ask about the pollen filter -- not exactly critical for the car's performance but still should be done as part of a scheduled service.

I should have added -- if your car is automatic, the ATF and filter should be changed as part of a service.
On my E Class automatic with the 7g+ gearbox, that should be done every 5 years or 77,000 miles.

If you are having stamped services done elsewhere, carry on with the recommended filter interval, just do a sneaky one yourself half way between intervals. I always change all filters twice as often as recommended, but probably wouldn't if I had to pay to get it done.

The good thing with using a good Indie is that they know the history, so they can recommend what additional items are required based on millage.

Me -2019 GLC 350 coupe AMG line. Mrs- ford kuga 65 plate awd powershift .
So is that the B2 for about £450 plus the other items?

Think so. Its what the online shaftometer quoted me anyhow. Ive seen how to do these jobs by a very competant german you tuber . Easily an hours work max. My next service would include the gearbox oil change.

All filters 50% off at ECP today only, FLASH50. Got myself an oil filter as It's due a change in 2.5K. Tempted by air & pollen, but they are both less than a year old.
