Servicing a '00 SL320 - if you could would you?

R129. My 2000, 53k SL320 is about 13 months, and has done 6k since it's last service. The service was done at a good recommended independent garage near Peterborough. I am very happy to do servicing of the main general items myself. (I have serviced my A6 v6 TDi for 100k now smoothly running with 190k) I'd defer to specialists if anything was beyond me, e.g. suspension bushes, engine innards, aircon etc.

What's required for a typical A service in an SL320?

I plan to keep the car for years. Is an MB ( or specialist ) service history that critical in an 8 year old car? After all a loving Full Service History is better than a patchy one! Or is it just a good record of everything that has been carried out, that people are interested in?
