Servicing w212

Looking to buy a 3 year old w212 e220. When should the ATF be changed on these and is it part of the servicing at Merc or an optional item? Any idea of cost if the car I'm looking for hasnt had it done?

On a 3 year old I would imagine it would require and ATF change at 5 years or 77,000 miles. MB charge around £300.

^ As above the atf on the 212 7spd is on the MB service schedule at 75k miles

ATF is part of the servicing schedule now along with brake fluid and plugs at certain intervals or mileage.

I put the details in and get:


Service 20 - Once at 31,000 miles/3 years
Automatic transmission: Carry out oil and filter change.

I wonder why they changed the ATF change down to 3 years? Are the 7g boxes reliable?

On the smaller engines with 7G+ is 5 years/75k.

Expect to pay about £195 at an indie.

Good gearboxes.

IIRC this has come up before and MB changed the servicing schedule so Steve@AG is probably right

I did a C250CDI yesterday with 7G+ which was 5 years and 33k and it came up on DSB.
