I have a SLK 200K, 2003. Just recently, I've been making sure I fill up with Shell V Power. Compared to other fuel I used previously (Morrisons) I THINK, the fuel economy was better. I'm not such an expert as to know fine technical details, and to really notice very small increases in performance, but I asked the local MB dealer service manager if V Power was better than anything else, but he just said that it can't do any harm. With it being 10p dearer on average, I'm wondering whether I am actually just wasting my money or whether there are tangible benefits.

Sorry if it's been raised before, couldn't find it on search.

Thanks for that. It was because I was looking for the new V Power which, I think is 99 octane, but the above thread is obviously along the same lines.

As a matter of fact, the nearest Shell station is one of the cheapest, if not the cheapest petrol station around, and I pass it regularly, so I might, as a trial, just use their normal stuff for a bit and see what happens.

By the way, an interesting site I found is www.petrolprices.com . You can receive regular emails, daily if you like, which tell you the cheapest places to buy your fuel.
