Shocks and robbers - What to buy

Can anyone tell me if the Shock absorbers advertised in THE Mag, namely Bilstein and ALKO are good or rubbish?  Are there other good ones out there?  I am in Ireland and the prices are seriously attractive compared to that of Main dealer but I dont want to buy crap ones either.

Dave,

I do know that Bilstein are a very good brand, they supply some quality product...as for ALKO, that sounds like some sort of dog food....
