I had upgraded my main lights to a better output, still halogens though. I found that my sidelights now looked very YELLOW

SO, after looking around I found some nice LED side lights. Found these

As they draw too small a current for the lights warning system to detect, I had to fit a pair of these resisters to create a greater current draw.

Now, I have no light errors, and a nice non yellow sidelight. the light on the left is the stock bulb, very yellow, the one on the right is the LED

You can buy white sidelight bulbs as well, Philips do them, 5w & look just like your LED's.

I used Philips Blue Vision W5W for the sidelights which matched the Philips X-Treme Power headlamp bulbs. If they were a bit cheaper I'd do the fog lights to, but hard to justify replacing two bulbs I almost never use anyway.

Good site here for bulbs.

Can you show me how to fit the resistor?
I bought a pair of " no error" leds but they are showing an error sometimes.

That will do nothing but dump current when the lights are on. If you want a voltage divider, and I imagine you do, the LED & resistor need to be in series

No, you dont want to drop the voltage, as all of the car LED systems are wired for 12v, what this does is create an extra current draw which the canbus uses to check if the lights are working, if you wire in series, the lights will not illuminate at all.

All LEDs are 3.6 to 5 volts near enough and 3 are wired in series to make up the 12v most consume about 30m/a, so that is 3 LEDS for the 30 m/a

I was just about to ask if this would work on my W124 but then I saw the price of the resistors, couldn't possibly be that extravagant on my low cost motor. :D
