Siezed parking brake equalizer W215

Is there any information on how I adjust/unsieze a siezed parking brake equalizer on a W215?

The equalizer on my car appears to be siezed with the parking brake on one side being permenently applied.

I have removed all of the components from within the disc hub (one shoe had no friction material left, the other was badly glazed and cracked), but am unable to move the equalizor in any fashion, in order to give some slack to the offending parking brake cable.

Any information/diagrams would be helpful.

You would need to get the car up off the floor so you can get underneath, but it should be relatively straight forward to follow the links/cables back to the handbrake lever under the car. Whether they are obscured by other components, heat shields, exhaust pipes, I don't know, but if you can get access it should become reasonably clear.

They you can see if there is a seized sector/link/whatever somewhere, and free it off and re-lubricate. Worst case I suppose is that a new handbrake cable assembly is required.

5mm allen bolt under 95 need freeing of with some wd40, its there to release the cables but seizes up........

All done now - thanks for the input.

Not only had that seized up, but the hinged "lever" where the cable connects to the brake shoes, inside the brake drum had also seized.

Obviously as things got worse the equalizer seized up.

For those interested the equalizer is held up against the car floor pan by one side slotting into the body work and the other running along a guide. Tension between the foot pedal cable (80) and the spring (105) hold it in place front to back.

When the self adjustment has seized (as mine had) undoing bolt 100 releases the tension in the cables sufficient for you to disconnect them and remove the equalizer.

Access is pretty easy as it's not hidden by any heat shields and is situated above the propshaft about 8-10inches in front of the rear differential.
