This tip maybe useful. I have just greased the mechanism of my single wiper blade. It is much easier to remove the large plastic cover if the wiper is stopped at 45degrees (not vertical). Then the wiper is fully extended and the cover can be slid upwards further, although not removed, giving plenty of room to get at the mechanism.
