Hey,

I unfortunately have some skirting and underbody floor cover damage on driver side. I’ll probably need bits replaced as a chunk on the underside of the skirting has snapped off and has also dug/damaged a bit of the underbody flooring cover.

See video:

Is this a job only fixable by the official Mercedes body shop and does anyone roughly how much it would be, with the skirting and that panel on the underbody floor cover needs replacing?

Hello and welcome,

Any decent bodyshop should be able to fix that - if you can get it up on axle stands (safely) you could probably just unbolt that plastic trim and replace it yourself. You might even be able to plastic weld what you have and make an almost invisible repair

Unfortunately the piece I had to cut off as it got really badly bent/twisted and was scraping against the ground, so I suspect it will be replacements

I went though some deep water in my smart and damaged the undertray and side skirt. I took it off, plastic welded and stitched it together - unless you go under it you can’t tell.

Thats just a protective panel made of plastic.

Easy DIY if you are inclined. Scree on and off.

Ask MB how much they would charge to replace.buy the part and go to any garage with a lift - so min job.

Do you know where I can source the parts? I tried having a look but had no luck :(

The side skirt is repairable, however if there is any part of the damage on your skirt is missing, that's a different story. To get a piece to replace or make up the missing piece, you will have to source the exact plastic type. Otherwise trying to weld to different types of plastics together is like welding steel to cloth.
Best to track down a second hand skirt from a breaker.
I've still got my damaged skirt, waiting for another of the same skirt to repair mine.
