SKL 230 Ignition problems

I have a 1998 SLK 230 wife took it to have brakes repaired at a non dealer shop. Now the car will not start, mech want to put anew key and computer in, it has a error code of P1750 and when you turn the key on the cooling fan starts to run. Any help would be so appreicated.

Remove the k40 relay from the ECU box, it the one with 4-5 blue 15 amp fuses on the top and one big fuse and several connectors, take the case off and look at the solder joints some may be in need of resoldering.
