sl 129 instrument cluster

Is it possible to remove the cluster in my 129 without taking the steering wheel off??There are no adjustments on steering wheel for movement.I know how to get it out,but is there room?

There is. Use the removal tools and wiggle slowly from side to side or drop the trim below it and push from behind.

My R129 had an electric steering column - can't remember if they all had them?

On the early 129's an electric adjustable was standard on the 500 and 600 but extra on the 280,320, this was up to 08 98 then became standard to the end of the run 2001-2
