sl 320 immobiliser problem s

Hi there. I have a 96 sl320 which has decided to pack up on me due to the immobiliser. Took the dog for a walk in the park today left the roof down and armed the alarm. Got back an hour later and disarmed with the key fob. Key into the ignition and turn nothing just cranking over. Tried again and noticed the red and green led s in the mirror flashing continuously. Did the usual battery reset and managed to start it. Switched off and back on, nothing again. Spent 3 hours trying to sort it.ended up having to get it recovered and towed back to the garage where I store it. Any advise please to a ****ed off sl owner

These alarms are packing up everywhere now days, you may be able to bye pass it as here
