I have a 1996 SL 320. The softop is in very good condition apart from the rear and side plastic windows which are splitting on the crease made when the roof is folded.
I am looking for a repairer to replace or repair the plastic windows and thus avoid buying a new roof.
I live in West Sussex - does anyone know anyone who can help?

Also I have a leak with my hard-top at the front off-side where the top meets the body. It is due to the rubber perishing. A new rubber seal costs about £240 (part only) but I only need a small part of it replaced. Again can anyone help.

Hi there,
I own a 1980 350SL and have the same problem, a crack appearing in each rear quarterlight plastic window, where it folds into the hood-well.
I haven't got round to doing anything about it yet, but I reckon if the soft top'll come off, a sailmaker or chandlers should be able to replace the plastic and sew it back in.
Depends if you live near the sea or not i suppose...!
I think you can also get plasticiser to rub in to the plastic to keep it soft and stop it going brittle and cracking - once it's been replaced.
Hope this helps!
Chris
