Hi everyone,

I am new to the forum so please any help would be much appreciated here. I have a 2004 sl350 which I love and has been running great other than the odd hickup for the past 2 years after the initial water problems were all dried up.

I have searched the forum and seen a couple of similar posts but unfortunately have not helped me on this occasion.

Car was running great and is completely dry as far as I can see. I have had carpets up and checked boot for water but all looks and feels ok.

The red parktronic lights have suddenly started coming on when stopping and then shuts down leaving the red light on the switch and my auxiliary battery in the boot has suddenly started draining overnight. It just happened recently when I was having an intermittent parktronic problem with the red light and I put it into a local Mercedes so called specialist who put it on the star system. They told me two of my front sensors had gone. From the moment of test the intermittent fault had disappeared and parktronic fault was there all the time and now battery has started draining. Battery was replaced only a few months ago. We changed the sensors but no difference.

Can someone tell me where the sensors get wired to. Is there a control unit somewhere and how do I get to it. I have noticed when the red light comes on at the switch after parktronic fails that the instrument back lights (i.e. on heating controls etc) go dim. Not sure if this is related.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks Martin
