SL 500 Speed Limiter?

Having read the thread relating to a clk430 speed limiter, I am curious to know
how to reset the limiter on an SL500,assuming of course that it has one fitted. Can anyone help?

Two things spring to mind

1) You mean the limit that stops the car getting over 150 mph

2) You mean the cruise/limiter that will stop you going like the proverbial bat

If its option 2. Drive the car onto the motorway press end of the cruise stalk in towards the steering column, and you will get a little yellow light come on. Pull the stalk towards the driver to switch the limiter on. Then you can push up to set the speed higher or down to reduce the top speed. Push the stalk towards the dash to stop the limiter. Or you can just hit the kick down and all hell will be set loose

1) If you want option 1 then a trip to a dealer should do the trick

Sligogolfer, if you have one fitted, the stalk can be pressed towards the steering wheel and a little LED light on the stalk illuminates. There are two different modes. The temperary one resets each time you switch off the ignition but is overrode by the pernament one's set top speed.

Pernament speedtronic setting or re-setting

• Gearbox in 'P', key in position '2' engine off.
• Turn speed limiter on (push lever towards steering and LED light will illuminate)
• Pull lever towards you briefly after about 1 second, and set speed will appear in display.
• Move lever up or down to set chosen speed limit. If you require no limit, set "---"
• To store this or any other top speed, pull lever towards you until a warning signal is heard.
