I HAVE A SL55 AMG WHICH KEEPS DISPLAYING TYRE PRESSURE FAULT, HAD IT CODE READ BUT NO FAULTS HAVE BEEN FOUND TRIED TO RESET IT AS INSTRUCTIONS IN OWNERS MANUAL BUT ONLY DISPLAYS DASHES INSTEAD OF TYRE PRESSUERS
I got so fed up with the monitors and I had it disabled, the wheel sensors cost £100 each and only last a max of 6 years as said above. It really is a painful extra, if you have the wheels re furbed at any time they break when you try and get them out
three things come to mind here. as has been said the sensors have a specific life and the tpm ecu knows exactly how old they are and when their life expires - this will trigger fault reports. earlier modules (pre 2003 i think) have known faults with signal reception and could be at fault, although usually just with 1 or 2 wheel pressures. third problem i have seen is when they have had a flat battery, or have been jump started. cure for this is removing the appropriate fuses for 30 seconds and going through the dash reset procedure. good luck with that.
