As above I want to remove the A post outer panels as they remove to replace a wind screen at some point and dont fit nicely, any ideas anyone as I dont want to get stuck in and break something, I can see a screw at the base and a screw on the top.

I only have the interior part, if you mean the metal that covers the A pillars from memory you remove the rubber bung in the top (one screw) and there is one screw at the bottom behind the rubber seal and the metal cover comes off, there is nothing holding the front edge, its only hooked on

Malcolm

I have the tech CD which shows the exploded picture of the parts but its not clear enough to see how it comes apart.

I can see at the base of the trim there is a screw hole through the trim and a screw at the top, with both screws removed and can feel the trim is movable, I think the rubber seal needs to be removed to expose more screws.

When I had to remove one, or move it I know that it would have come off by moving the rear part out a little, and just pushing from the rear it comes out, it is held at the front in the rubber channel. there cant be anymore screws as it moves too easily with the said screws out

Thanks Malcolm, very easy when you know how, there is a plastic guide at the base and if the trim doesn't get put back in the right place it sits high on the outer edge. All sorted thanks.
Love the SL500, trying to persuade the wife to sell the SLK and have the SL, first thing she said was NO and later in the day whats the MPG on it?????

late 20's I said similar to your SLK:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

After your SL Malcolm you would hate the SLK, the SL500 I have here is fantastic, I thought it would feel big and woolly to drive but its a serious sports car, the handling is amazing even on the standard 16 inch alloys.

I think good honest R129's that havent been messed about with will be a future classic, this one was 81k new back in 1995 and theres plenty for sale at 11 12 13k excellent value for money really.

I'd swap the wife in a flash for a new CL, she peed me off one day so I put her up forsale on ebay, managed to get £1.37 before ebay dropped the listing stating I couldn't sell live stock.
