SL R107. When were they Galvanised exactly?

Hi,

My Sl search has started this week and I wondered if I ccould get a definative answer.

I've been told that 1986 models are galvanised and I've heard its 87 onwards (and 87-89 cars do seem a lot higher in price).

The model changed from 85 to 89 so isn't all cars in this period?

What I have read is that Merc and BMW both galvanised all steel panels etc from 2004 onwards.
