Hi guys,

I have a 2004 SL55 AMG and my roof has stopped working, i have replaced both of the batteries in the car (problem was there before), checked all the fuses, and trunk micro switch on the luggage cover, they all seem ok. When i hold the lever back, the led's just flash, cant hear anything trying to work. Has anyone had the same problem? or can someone please shed some light on this?!
Thanks!!:)

Hello and welcome,,sadly with the first roof problem that we have had on this forum.

I will have a look and see what I can find.

Take a look in the boot to see if there is any water in the boot in the hole for the spare wheel and in the corners. Is all of the locking normal

Hi, thanks for the reply, sorry to start with a bummer of a problem!
there are no signs of water, or anything to show that there has ever been any,
all of the locking works fine, and the rear windows operate using the front window switches as they should. the roll bar operates fine using the switch under the roof switch, left me a little stumped......mmm!

9 times out of 10, the reason the roof wont work is the 15amp fuse blown for the pse pump, as you rightly said Malc!!

Behind your drivers seat, open the cover and lift the floor, then push the front cover off, in there is your fuse!!!

Ok, i checked all of the fuses, they are all ok, and the soft closing IS working on the boot. I put my hand down and felt the lower pump unit, it is all bone dry, but is very very warm.

It is a trip then to someone with STAR,,it is a very simple system compared to the car it replaced with a few switches here and there.

Congratulations to being the first on here with this fault

I have sent it,,you can go back to your post and remove the address in edit.

The switch that goes is the one called N72 25 16

I am not sure of its location for the minute though it should be in the rear,it protects the pump. The pumps are very expensive things at £2500
