Sl300 alarm system

I am a new member having just purchased an SL300,1987. I have had an intermittent fault with the alarm system going off when i open the doors. I would like to disable the alarm system and would like to know if there is a fuse or relay to disable the alarm or will I have to find the module and disconnect the wiring from that? Where is the alarm module - my trawl of the web seems to indicate it is under the false firewall in the passenger footwell but all i can see is the engine management module and the ABS module. It was bought as a 1988 model and it has an "E" reg. Some of the accompanying paperwork says it was first registered on 01/08/1987, but I don't know if this was just a guesstimate on behalf of the servicing garage.

it will be a guesstimate if its for mot purposes. the general era is probably right anyhow as the car could be built in 87 but registered in 88!
