I decided a while ago that I want this car and now I MUST HAVE IT!!!! A HA HAAAAA.

This will be my first MB, so I was hoping you could give me a few pointers on obvious (or known) problems with cars of this age.

There is a danger I will buy with my heart so your comments will all be welcome.

Make sure that everything works including the hood.

Most is as you can see it, the biggest thing is the engine wiring harness, get one that has been replaced

leaking head gasket - oil down side of block
leaking power steering box - v.expensive to fix, don't I know it !
crumbling wiring - ask if it has had a new engine wiring loom
rust! - There will be some, it's just a case of how much
soft-top - make sure it operates a couple of times, and make sure hardtop locks and unlocks
infra-red remote locking can be flaky at this age of car
instrument cluster, make sure all lights come on before you start the car and everything is working
power seats - make sure all the motors work

Have I put you off yet? - Only kidding, don't want to, just want you to have eyes open when you check the car over.
