]Hi all...

i'm new to the site and relatively new to Mers's.

I really require someone's help. I have just recently bought an 1995 SL320 and i love it. But in the last day or so my drivers side window, stays in an up right position and does not want to come down. The top left of the Window is sticking slighty out. almost like it has come off its runner towards the top. Now this has had an impact on the roof coming back and forth, as the drivers window doesnt move up or down when you open and close the door.

The passenger window works fine and goes up and down as normal and the roof's motor is working but wont come back and forth as the driver side window is not working.

I thoght it was the control unit which sits behind the passenger seat, this controls all the windows and stuff.

But i wont to know if anyone can help me and and let me know what is the issue with the drivers window.

Please HELP, i dont want rain coming in my car as the window is not aligned properly.

Welcome to the forum, I think that the door card will have to come off to see what has gone wrong.

We have a member stats007 who may know the exact reason

It's a simple fix, basically what happens is that the glass has over-ridden the stop inside the door and once it has got to this stage it cannot be lowered.

Remove the door trim panel and then the door speaker, three quarters up the door skin from where the speaker is mounted you will see a 10mm nut - remove the nut and this will release the window stop (it's a right angle piece of metal) you can now lower the window and raise it to the correct height so it sits against the aperture seals. Refit the window stop and try it a few times before re-fitting the door trim. It's a bit fiddly, but with a lead light put inside the door all is revealed.

Check that the window stop in not bent, because if it is the same problem will return - it's easily put back to it's original shape if required.

The whole job takes about 1 hour;)

Hope this helps
