SL320 R129 Faulty Roof and Roll Bar

:cry: Hello all, I wonder if someone might be able to offer some advice.

My '96 SL320 has developed a problem in that it's roof and roll bar do not move when pressing the buttons/switches. The roof was in the down position and the lights are permantly on, on both the roof button and roll bar switch.

I first noticed when getting into my car after having it cleaned that the electric seats were in a reset type of position and they needed pushing back to original positions. Then when starting the car I got the red and green lights flashing on the rear view mirror.

There is no sound of the mechanics working at all when pressing these buttons but I have managed to raise the roof manually but even this cannot be completed fully, as stated in the manual.

I tried checking some fuses and also made sure everything was pluged in the hydraulic pump thingy under the spare wheel in boot to no avail.

Sounds like its had a flat battery. If this is the case the windows will need normalising, press the down button till the window gets to the bottom then keep pressing down for a futher 3 or 4 seconds repeat this in the upward direction, do both windows and retry the roof ( if the window one touch function works they are already normalized) . I think you may have introduced some other faults as well by trying to operate the roof manually you will have to get it locked down properly to stand any chance if you follow the emergency operation instructions word for word you should be able to get the roof locked down, failing the above you will have to get the fault codes

have you checked the level of the hydrolic fluid..........just a thought
