Sl320 R129 Wiper stuck on slow all the time

Hi My 96 SL320 has wiper on slow when ever Ignition is in position 1 or 2 ,started. I have isolated it to the Combination relay P/n: 140 820 71 26. Wiper still operating with stalk switch disconnected. It stops when Combination replay is removed. When connecting combination relay it seems to get a GND from pin 7 on the larger connector with slide lock.
Has anyone came across this issue before. I need schematic and searched the web but cant get my 96 model.
Any help would be great

Sounds like the parking switch has failed making the wiper motor continue to run to try to park the wipers.

Thanks lost Kiwi. Is the parking switch part of the wiper motor, I did open it to check was it clean and gasket was a bit wet.

Yes it's part of the motor.

Can this be repaired or is it replacement motor. I was checking for dry solder joints in the combination relay with soldering Iron. Your idea makes more sense

I have cleaned motor tracks and The fault is now intermittent. Sometimes on 2 wires from combination relay have 12V this is purely intermittent also wiper stopped mid screen. Im thinking its the big Combination relay 140 820 71 26 at fault.

I'd still put money on the wiper motor.

I Hope you are right LostKiwi, I will stick at it and let you know. The newer relay does not seem to be as troublesome as the older version

Relay Repair fixed the issue. I was thinking It was the relay as it was Putting out voltage with wiper disconnected and that was Intermittent

Woohoo! A far cheaper and easier fix than replacing the wiper motor
