SL350 Ignition Switch

Hi,

Has anybody changed an SL 350 Electronic Ignition Switch or would you recommend a Garage carry this out.
Would a second hand replacement Switch work or does this need to be coded

Any advise would be appreciated

You cannot take another EIS switch from another car and directly fit it. The are coded to the vehicle but as above, Mark may well know a few shortcuts!!

Hi Bill - I've replied to your email!

Steve - You are right, it will do nothing if just directly fitted as it is a main control module for the vehicle and the security system. But there is always a way around that! I can pretty much make an old EIS ready for a green/orange key from the dealer!
