I was thinking exactly the same thing . Legend goes that someone once heard of someone who is rumoured to have finished :p
I was wondering if the winner was the one that got furthest...;)

Oye you guys, don't hijack Johns thread :alien:

About 6 retirements last year LK.
We were going to open the makes to MB, but decided there's not enough Triumph cars to provide breakdown tows for the Mercs :D:p

You've got yourself a handsome car with remarkably low miles. I hope you enjoy your car as much as I enjoy mine.

Well gents, many thanks for all the advice, as a result I was able to confirm that a very pretty, blue 350 has an engine number seriously to the wrong side of the balance shaft fix.
Yes, it may have been done, but, it was a long way to go to risk discovering there is no paperwork.

However, the good news is, I am the owner of an SL500

A good, clean car
plenty of work done on it
Boot seals new 2 months ago
Boot DRY
All round nice car
Got a bit knocked off the price and a fair PX for my Boxster

Again, thank you all for your time and advice
John
Nicely done, looks a really good example with very low miles....:)

In this weather it's probably increased £1K in value :)

Thanks for all the kind words, however . . . . . . .

My TR6 (had it for 4 years) never let me down
Oil change every spring
Plugs cleaned every couple of weeks
Polished at every available opportunity

A great car, I still miss not having it to drive
Straight 6 . . .fuel injection, which, when set up by the late, great, Triumph meastro, Clive Manvers, never let me down
Pulled like a train
A beautiful sound from the twin pipes at the back

Best of all . . . . .
£0.00 / year road tax
£115.00 / year comprehensive insurance, with agreed value

What's not to love

I would love to, but;
I used to gave a garage and parking for 5 cars
Now, I have a workshop and parking for 2 cars
You can't park an early 1970's BL built car outside . . . . The body won't cope

I have MS and find manual gearboxes 'difficult' . . . .this can, under some circumstances, read 'dangerous'
Thus, autos only for me from now on.

Some extracting of the proverbial is a good way to keep friendships fresh
I was not offended in any way

Just wanted to confirm that there is another Triumph fan on this MB forum
Does this mean the number of Triumph fans here has doubled?

Thank heavens for the more discerning car owner
I had Triumph bikes in my yoof and always wanted a TR5 or TR6 and a narrowboat
Done both, but, real life sometimes gets in the way.

John
