Hi All.
I have a 2004 SL55 AMG. I currently have the engine management light on. What are the usual causes for this? I have been told about the secondary air pump. This has been tested and I have been told it is working fine. Can this still be the fault?

Thanks in advance

Steve

there could be any number of reasons for this, your first step should be to get your car on a STAR diag, in the hands of a skilled user they should be able to pinpoint your problem

I cannot offer much on this, I take it it still drives fine, as Miffy it must go on STAR to see what it is

I got my light on while hammering through Amsterdam but it went off after the next start, not joined up to STAR yet to see what it was.

On my previous Sl, a 320, I had the same problem after filling up with Asda petrol. Nobody could find any fault, so I changed petrol and it cleard itself.

What are you using?

Then if a fuel fault that put the lamp on, only the Lambda circuitry a little out

Yet another question asked on both forums, same advice from both too!

No point guessing on this one, diagnosis first my friend.
