SL600 230 internal door handle repair

when opening the drivers door the handle released with a snap, I read the crank attached to the door handle was prone to snapping, I have removed the door card and this is the problem as half of the crank fell out when the card was released. I have purchased a replacement from my local Merc main dealer for £13.17 but I have a problem fitting it.
It looks like I need to take the door handle surround out of the door card to remove the pin hinge but the handle assembly is held in place by melted plastic tags, can I drill these out and remove the door handle if so how do you refit the assembly.

Any help gratefully received.

Thank Bert I thought this was the way to access the handle but did not want to drill out the tabs without confirmation this was OK.

Make sure you don’t drill them so the hole is bigger for the screws

Yes the Main dealer in Colchester very good service, not that I would trust them with the actual car!

I was told I had to buy the full door card from Manchester merc
I ended up buying a crappy one from eBay and it really bugs me

It getting that you cannot trust your Merc dealer in it for the money they say, Mercedes cars are expensive to repair in the 1st place without dealer trying to get you to pay over the top for parts, my point is if they sell the crank separately it must be changeable, removing the door card is quite straight forward but it seems a shame Mercedes decide to glue/melt components in place. You would expect more for £100K car. (not that I paid that! )
