I am about to do a service on a Merc 124 230e and I am thinking about putting slick 50 in when I change the oil, I have been told that new findings say that it is now bad for an engine, can anybody enlighten or advise me. Regards John johnmusic1@ntlworld.com

Dont use Slick 50 or any other oil additive.

Slick 50 were succesfully sued by the federal government for making false claims about the product.

Hi Arnie.
Thanks for the page that you recommended, It was definately worth the read and it has changed my mind on additives. from now on all I will be using is a good quality synthetic oil. If any other readers want any information on engine additives I truly recommend they read Arnies reply to my question.
Thanks once again.
John
