Had a slight rain induced, slow slide into the back of another car the other day. My insurance tried to write off my 1992 1.8 190e, with 98000 full dealer service history, in immaculate condition. The upshot being they said there was £1200 worth of damage comprising of: new o/s headlight, new o/s indicator, full grille and a little bit of plastic trim under the headlight. The only serious (if you can call it that) is the edge of the wing under the headlight is fractionally bent. I laughed and told them to...well you can imagine...and took a cash repair settlement. Sourced all the parts from Mercman for about £140 (and we wonder why our premiums go up, unscrupulous garages charging silly sums for insurance jobs maybe?), but aside from the wing which I will get professionally done, and don't laugh now, how do I remove the headlight!!! I have no idea. Any help please!
p.s I thought a '92 190e would have ABS as standard? Mine apparently does not, or its stopped working. MOT due next month, any ideas or info?
