sounds like ballbearing but MB stratford says no, charged me a load & problem was still there.
Other problem is when, at low speeds, there is a loud rattling from the undercarriage, ?gearbox when car is moving at very low speeds only.

Any ideas??

2002 SL500, 216 CL500, all fully loaded
The rattle could be a exhaust shield lose.

Is the squeak better or worse when cornering, or at any particular speed

Which wheel - front or back? bearing wouldn't squeak as it would be at collapse stage if it was making any noise, could be disc out of true causing "squeak" as it rubs intermitently against pads, is it there at all speeds?

Rattling from underside could be exhaust mountings, or possibly the front bumper / spoiler is loose at lower mounting points, I have this with mine at present, but haven't bothered to fix it yet.
