hi new guy!!!! hello all:
i would like to pick all your brains,
i have a 1999 't' reg slk230, it has been cutting out for sometime but not that often, until now,
i can be driving along then the engine will cut out all lights come on ,try to restart and nothing dash lights up and the cooling fans come on on high speed.give it 10mins and would restart as if nothing wrong.
yesterday it did it to me 3 times and took 2 hrs before restart, now i think i need to get it looked as getting fed up of sitting on road side,
any help would be great as dont want to be in the hands of the garages to much,

This should just be the crankshaft sensor that needs to be replaced

Unfortunatly it sounds like either the K40 relay (if fitted) or the engine control unit. Best get it checked.

k40 might be £100, ecu might be £1000! as star suspects, this is either an ecu fault or an ecu POWER SUPPLY fault. but sheepy, you must get this diagnosed properly before you can speculate on costs.

You have the K40f2 and 3, you have the K40k9 relay
Fuse block B has fuse 15 at 15 amp and fuse 16 at 10 amp

It is worth checking the connections and tightness of the above items
