SLK 230 R170 Roof will not release, advice please

Hi, I'm a new member, having roof problems with my R170 SLK 230, windows roll down, boot opens but roof will not release. Would appreciate any advice on releasing the roof so I can access the screws to remove roof liner. Would also be grateful for the procedure for adjusting the roof bowden cables, if anybody has them handy.
