Does anyone else have a problem following heavy rain, that when you open the boot, water gushes out of the top lock mechanism? I can't see where it is coming from, but want to resolve the problem as the boot carpet gets wet!!

Is it like the CLK? the boot shape allows water off the bottom lip of the boot to drip in the boot (not really run in).
I have to remember not to let the lid come right up until I've run my finger round the rim to remove the water..... bit of a pain on an otherwise glorious car.

Thanks for your response. Not really familiar with the CLK. The water only runs out when the boot lid gets to a certain height - if I'm quick enough I remember and close the boot until I have something to hand to catch the water. It's not just drips - I would say equivalent to a cup full. Just annoying and will eventually have an effect on the carpet. I'ts also not good if you have something in the boot as that gets caught by the drips. However, I cannot see where the water is collecting in the first place - as it comes out of the catch area. Any ideas?

is it similar to this one ? (video included) because that was related to the boot lock letting in water...

No, sorry, it's not linked to my problem, mine's just an annoyance, linked to the boot shape. Yours sounds very much like one of the boot lid fittings allowing water in to splash around in the double skin, lurking until you open it. There's some good ideas in Anyweb's post though.
