Hi Guys,
I bought an SLK230 Kompressor 98 back from a main dealer in october last year. I have covered 5000 miles in it and the mileage is now 32,000.
It has the tier 1 warranty provided as an approved used vehicle.
I have had a problem with it that on really hot days recently the roof would not recline, so I sent it to the garage for them to check this out.
Whilst they have had the car they have now come back to me with the following problems with it, at a cost of nearly £1800 to fix!
Break Fluid Change ( it's dark ) £95
New Wipers £70
Front Pads & Discs £360
Steering Damper Leaking £70
Brake Flexi's at rear cracking £95
Slight Leak from O/S/R Diff Output Seal £580
G/Box Electrical Plug Damp £165
Vario Roof Switch Replacement £320
A total of £1755....
Should any of this ( apart from fluid and wipers and pads ) be covered under warranty?
Also is it acceptable for such a large amount of things to go wrong so soon after buying the vehicle???
I am certainly not impressed at the number of issues and would have hoped that most of these things would be picked up in the 100 point inspection, a key element of the approved used process.
Any comments or advice on how best to limit the cost to me? Or shall I just call watchdog / oft now????
