The interior light of my SLK sometimes comes on when negotiating sharp(ish) turns and roundabouts (even at slow speed). It's an intermittent problem and is sometimes accompanied by a clicking noise emanating from the boot. I suspect a malfunctioning sensor but which one?

Has anyone had this or a similar problem or know what is causing it?

Thanks in advance for any info.

I had it on my last E class. It was a door light switch. It triggered the central locking so the light came on and the locks popped up. The noise from the back will be a relay or pump tripping as the circuit becomes active so not necessarily indicative of where the problem lies. The switches are cheap and you only have 2 so possibly a good place to start.
