Wow!
My friend in Knutsford, Cheshire ordered a new SLK55 AMG from a dealer up here in Scotland but has since broken his leg, so cant drive at the moment. So he asked me a big favour to pick the new SLK55 AMG up yesterday and drive it down to Cheshire and then bring his 55 plate SLK350 back up to drop off at the dealer on Monday. I did not take much persuasion. I was a bit sceptical about £50k for a two-seat SLK but worth every penny. The noise was remarkable and performance unlike anything I have driven in a while. Was about 3.5 hours each way so got a good shot of both. I was especially impressed with the SLK350 which is certainly quick enough, smoother and softer - I was quite tired tonight heading back up but the 350 was an effortless cruiser.
So a long day behind the wheel of a Mercedes model range I have no prior experience of but am very very impressed!
