Great looking car, I enjoyed the video and am looking forward to seeing what you are going to do with it.

I thought it was interesting when you mentioned that it was the same engine that's in the 63 AMG but without the turbos, when you said about making more horsepower are you going to remap it or is there the possibility of adding the turbos to it? I guess adding the turbos is probably overkill and would be expensive & hard to do, but it would be awesome having that much power in a relatively small and light car.

I also watched your CL videos, I admire the amount of time and effort you are putting in, will there be any more video updates coming in the future?

An old B-Class.
I had a R172 350 in Australia (daily driver & I loved it). When we moved back to the UK (2015) I told my wife that I was using the funds from the sale of the 350 to buy an SLK here. The intention being, that I could afford a good used R172 55 . (New price on the 350 was over AU$100k and IIRC, I got 66k for it).

She wasn’t keen and so we ended up with a new SL. However, as awesome as the SL is, I wish I’d stuck to my guns. The intent was to do a lot of touring in the SL but what with, frail elderly parents (who died in the last 6 years) , grandchildren being born, other family dramas and covid, we have not toured for 4 years and the SLK would have been a much better option for the local fun runs that I’ve done.

Hoping to hit Ireland & Europe again this spring. She wants to go to the USA so the debate is on......:);)

Enjoy the 55. #envious.

Thanks! No, no turbo's, but there will be some power on the table with remapping, as it has variable valve timing and direct injection. at least 40bhp/60nm!

Thanks, there will be. Unfortunately, work has been so busy and personal stuff, that I have not had any further time to progress with the CL. The videos will continue to flow when work re-commences :)

A year has passed.

Employees have gone and gone

Personal and professional tribulations are taking their toll on my sanity in recent months.

I hope there is sunshine on the horizon. If there is, you will see a flurry of new content, continuing this and others.

We are only but a few weeks away from March
Hopefully that will put a 'Spring' in your step and maybe even your life.

And that's also top down V8 time....

I like the stock exhaust sound. Gorgeous car. She's a keeper for sure, they'll never make another car like that. If I did not have the SL63, I'd have one of those in a blink of an eye.

I've got some PS4s on order for the SL. Like you say, the Continentals have zero grip in this weather, and mine are overdue replacement.
